The
Daily Telegraph covered this fractional development in Portugal and gave the example of:
"John Westwood, 57, who runs a software company, and Jackie Bratchell, 61, are brother and sister, and with their partners, Pat and Alan, a part-time company director, they bought a quarter share of the freehold in a three-bedroom, three-bathroom villa with a pool overlooking the golf course. They paid £230,000 in 2003 and get 11 or 12 weeks a year there, which they take together or separately - or give to family and friends."
The Telegraph describes this development as:
"But Parque de Floresta is not hermetically sealed. It backs on to the village of Budens, which has a handful of cafés, bars and restaurants. Budens is a half-hour drive from Lagos, a large, beautiful town with a grand marina and the distinction of having held the slave market from which Henry the Navigator funded his Atlantic voyages. Hire cars and taxis can be ordered by staff on your behalf and the place is not designed to wring every last euro from its residents."
